66th Film

66th- A Tribute to Ghanian National Identity

66th was a short film and collaborative effort of The Tema Metropolitan Assembly at Tema Stadium and the NYU Accra Film Department. NYU Accra’s Documenting the African City class was able to participate in the national independence day celebration for a special film project to document what 66 years of independence from Colonial rule meant to everyday Ghanian children and adults. Eleni, alongside her student team, focused on the film’s perspective on the school children, how they felt about the celebration, and what colonialism and national identity and pride meant to them. Eleni co-edited, co-directed, and co-filmed the project, as well as interviewed subjects.
